LUKE LIVE! Goals/formats/cost

GOALS: to strengthen the participants' involvement with the Scriptures & foster evangelization & faith sharing; to provide parishes with an ecumenical opportunity (retreat may be co-sponsored with neighborhood Protestant Churches.) The Sunday homily inaugurating the Mission will present “Ways We Interact & Relate to the Bible” using the Sunday readings as examples. Weeknight discussions highlight community-building themes such as “Kingdom of God.”

Formats & Settings LUKE LIVE! may be offered in formal Mission format of 2, 3 or 4 consecutive evenings for your parish OR as a Weekend Retreat Friday evening through Sunday afternoon for special groups with a minimum of 60 participants. The most ideal setting for LUKE LIVE! is your church sanctuary; refreshments in your gathering space.

Cost To Your Parish:

1. Missionary’s Travel Expenses: Airfare or Train fare.

2. Missionary’s Room & Board (usually Rectory)

3. Professional Pianist: Your foundation pays your

accompanist for one hour of rehearsal with Fr. DiLuzio

prior to Night 1 & then for 3 evenings or sessions

at your accompanist’s required fee. (Suggested

stipend: $150 per session; $50 for rehearsal)

4. Advertising Costs (Your decision, but I request

a minimum commitment of bulletin brochure inserts

&/or flyers plus pulpit announcements.) I can

provide copy-ready proofs of brochures in black &

white or color with your dates & times plus sample

flyers upon request.

Cost to Participants: A free will offering taken up for each evening session. A minimum of 60 participants required each night OR parish agrees to pay a flat fee of $1,500 (This flat fee is requested ONLY if there will be less than 60 participants). The fee is negotiable, however, and, in most cases, the free-will offering is always preferred. For the Weekend Retreat Format, the suggested minimum is $25. per person for a minimum of 60 people. All proceeds are tax-deductible contributions to the “PAULIST FATHERS.”

Monday through Wednesday or Thursday:

1. One daily Mass with your community &/or school

OR a prayer service with an optional coffee

social &/or discussion question & answer session

immediately following.

2. Reconciliation two weekday afternoons—either at

your regular scheduled time or by appointment on

the last 2 days of the mission (Tues/Wed or Wed/

Thur. afternoons) OR a 5^th night Reconciliation

Service.

Monday Evening: LUKE LIVE! Session 1: 7 PM to 8:30 PM

Tuesday Evening: LUKE LIVE! Session 2: 7 PM to 8:30 PM

Wednesday Evening: LUKE LIVE! Session 3: 7 PM to 8:30 PM

Thursday Evening: LUKE LIVE! Session 4: 7 PM to 8:30 PM

Snack and Social time may follow the program or be included in the 1 ½ hour time frame upon request.

Weekday Format may include visits to parish school(s).

A one-hour version of Luke Live! may also be negotiated for a school assembly or a series of ½ hour programs for different age groups (Additional stipend requested).

Saturday 11 to 12:30 PM: LUKE LIVE! Session 2

followed by Lunch

Saturday 2 to 3:30 PM: Small Group Discussion

Saturday 5 PM: Saturday Vigil Mass (for retreat

participants and/or with parish-at-large.)

Saturday 6 PM: Light Meal

Saturday 7:30 PM to 9 PM: LUKE LIVE! Session 3 & Social

Sunday 11 AM to 12:30 PM: LUKE LIVE! Session 4

Sunday 12:30 to 1:30 PM: Lunch & Farewells

2-NIGHT FORMAT: Sessions 1 & 2 combined; sessions 3 & 4 combined. Each Night from 7 to 10 PM w/ intermissions.

1-NIGHT FORMAT: Your choice of segments from Sessions 1, 2, 3 & 4 Program runs 2 ½ hours with intermission included. I offer this option for New York City parishes and those in surrounding suburbs and also in areas where I am already scheduled for a week long mission.
